Go For Gold?
The last time I ever recieved a go for gold was in the third term of year seven. Not because I am not deserving...because the teachers kind of never ever mentioned it after year seven. It's a little like merit awards from primary school don't you think? Well, that's just my opinion but you can click here to go to the official Evaluation of the Go For Gold Merit Scheme. The only positive side is each teacher has a different reaction on the topic. Mr Jones for example has the best comments on the topic, especially with Benjamin and Marija in year 10. These relationships need to be tuned down to holding hands and the occasional hug, not making babies in the middle of school.

What's wrong with public displays of affection? Smiths hill is very mediocre in that regard compared to about 95% of the other schools in the state. I recall some friends 'smooching' in year 6 at Primary School.
The few most civilised and peaceful cultures in the world revolve around lovin' and affection, why not learn from them?
... Then again, I am in year 10 - many of us seem to have different values to the rest of you. ;)

Yes the making out can be a bit much, but holding and hands and the occasional hug is a little harsh to cut it down to. Our school culture revolves around hugging each other a fair bit, so to say that couples can do less than that is unfair. People shouldn't be giving a crap unless there's people sitting there with tongues shoved down each others throats. Can I also say that as a year 10 student I'm getting sick of the stereotype that all year 10 couples are constantly sucking face, most is not all. And if you have a problem with just hugging, then you're either a bit of a sociopath or just jealous

It's awful! I don't even mind PDA really.
Holding hands is fine, it looks a little lovesick pathetic - but most people in relationships are lovesick and pathetic, no issue :)
cuddles are alright, but not constantly to the point where people become concerned that you are perhaps totally attached and physically unable to pull away. hugs are fine, again, letting go occasionally so you can remember what your body is like on its own is a good idea.
Kisses are alright as a end of day goodbye or something, but not an "i'm trying to consume your face" kisses, keep it decent please! G-rated disney movie kisses~
To the boy from f block i saw attempting to mimic a python and dislocate his jaw to swallow his prey whole - that's bad enough as it is, groping is just totally not on. This is a school - not a sleazy motel room. Please don't engage in such activities, next time i will personally come up, and cut your dirty wandering hands off and then give you an awkward abstinence lecture. I feel this is my duty as a Year 12 student. XD
Seriously, as a general rule, i think don't do anything further than what you'd be comfortable doing in front of your parents. I can live with that i think. If you grope in front of your parents, you're pretty fucked up, so we're not going to get through to you.

PDA doesn't bother me at all. why do people have problems with people showing their love for one another? i do admit, it can go too far considering its at school, but c'mon SHARE TEH LOVE. copping a feel at school ain't particularly cool, but i don't see why people feel the need to stop the happy. also, matthew from year 12 said this: "It's more attention seeking than anything". is he a fucking five year old? its a public display of AFFECTION. i hate to say stuff like this, but people like this seem to just want to make people feel bad. hopefully he's better than that. i have my doubts though.
